Day 1 : Christchurch

Arrive Christchurch and transfer to your hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 2 : Christchurch - Queenstown

Early breakfast. Leave by coach for Queenstown via New Zealand’s highest mountain, Mt. Cook, crossing the Canterbury Plains. Climb the foothills of the Southern Alps into the MacKenzie Basin. Take in the lovely scenery of the Church of the Good Shepherd nestled on the lakeshore of Lake Tekapo before following the shore of Lake Pukaki. Take a short trip down the Kawarau River Gorge to arrive Queenstown by late afternoon. Overnight.

Day 3 : Queenstown - Milford Sound

Breakfast. Leave on a day trip to Milford Sound. Travel along the edge of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau, the gateway to the Fiordland National Park. Descend to Milford Sound. Enjoy aone hour forty minute cruise of Milford Sound out to the Tasman Sea. See the majestic peaks, sparkling waterfalls, fur seals lazing on the rocks, dolphins playing in the ships’ wake and numerous sea birds. Return to Queenstown. Overnight.

Day 4 : Queenstown

Breakfast. Spend the day as you choose shopping, and maybe experiencing the excitement of bungee jumping, jet-boating, exploring the back country or just relaxing. Overnight.

Day 5 Queenstown - Franz Josef Glacier

After breakfast, set out for Franz Josef with a short visit to Lake Wanaka. Drive along the shore of Lake Hawea to Makarora. Follow the ancient Maori trail to the West Coast. Arrive at Franz Josef Glacier. Overnight.

Day 6 : Greymouth - Tranz Alpine Train -Christchurch

Breakfast. From Franz Josef travel to Greymouth. Make a stop at Hokitika to view the Jade and Glass Blowing Studios and then pass through Kumara Junction to arrive at Greymouth. Depart for Christchurch on the Tranz Alpine Train, one of the top six scenic train journeys in the world. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 7 : Christchurch - City Tour

Breakfast. Spend the morning touring the central city including Cathedral Square, Victoria Square, the lovely Avon River and some local gardens. Afternoon free. Overnight.

Day 8 : Christchurch

Breakfast. Free time until transfer from your hotel to Christchurch Airport.
